Undergraduates

From agriculture to education, engineering to management and commerce since 2000, 194 scholarships have been awarded to a total of 94 women and 100 men to study at an undergraduate level at universities across Australia as part of the scholarship program.

The priority areas of study for undergraduate studies only in Timor-Leste are below. These priority areas are for the 2024 intake and are in line with the Government of Timor-Leste’s needs and a reassessed for each intake. 

Example fields of study in brackets are not limited to these:

  • Economics and finance – (examples of areas of study include economics, statistics, macroeconomics, microeconomics, trade and commerce, business, accounting)
  • Agriculture – (examples include agriculture, forestry, horticulture, soil science, rural development, agroforestry, marine science, fisheries, biosecurity, climate change, humanitarian and disaster risk reduction, water management)
  • Education – (examples of areas of study include education for special needs, disability inclusion, education, TESOL, early childhood, vocational education and training)

There are NO priority areas of study at the postgraduate level.
