Types of awards
Australia Awards scholarships are for higher education studies in Australia, for qualifications in one of the priority fields of study as identified by the Governments of Timor-Leste and Australia.
Level of study
Australia Awards scholarships provide citizens of Timor-Leste with the opportunity to obtain a qualification at an Australian tertiary institution.
Awards will be offered for commencement in 2026 at the following levels:
- Diploma level (only available for people with a disability)
- Bachelor Degree/ Undergraduate (approximately 15% of awards)
- Master’s Degree (coursework or research)
- PhD (approximately 5% of awards)
“Scholarship awards are available to eligible citizens of Timor-Leste including at least one award to an applicant living with a permanent disability for diploma, undergraduate or postgraduate study.”
For persons with a disability:
Any level of study including Diploma and Advanced Diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate.
Australia Awards Scholarships for study in 2026
Scholarship awards will be available to eligible citizens of Timor-Leste including at least one award to an applicant with a permanent disability for diploma, undergraduate or postgraduate study.
